Intern Life

I'm an intern now!   I completed two short rotations simultaneously and bounced between a hairnet and my labcoat:
Definitely prefer the labcoat...

One day I was there at 5am to work the breakfast trayline, the next I was there at 9 and wrote tubefeeding orders with the Clinical Manager!  I had a great time with everyone at Maryview but I'm really looking forward to starting clinical on Monday.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Well THAT was two weeks ago...I love clinical!  I'm looking forward to having a little more freedom to see patients and write orders by myself.
In other news, Chris is making our lovely house even better!  I'll have to remember to take pictures later, when the sun's out.  He made a doggie bathroom area, ripped out a bunch of overgrown stuff in the back and build a fire pit.  He's also stained and painted some furniture- he's pretty impressive that husband of mine:)
And he's cute too!
This picture was taken at a wedding we went to in DC last weekend.  What a blast!  It was absolutely beautiful and it was so great to spend that time with Mom, Dad and England friends.  We didn't get to do much sightseeing, but we made tentative plans to go back there to visit 4 people, NY to see 5 people and Boston to see 3:)  How lucky of us to have friends in such cool cities!  Those invitations, although less inviting, were absolutely returned.  If anyone wants to vacay in beautiful Chesapeake (home to the Great Dismal Swamp, Big Woody's Bar & Grill, and most importantly...US), our guest room is available!
LOVE 4 Day Weekends!
Happy Belated Labor Day! I took someone's wedding pictures off of facebook so I finally have some:) I think the Duck Boat pictures will take a little longer but I'm still on the look-out.
This is the group who went to Legal Seafood after the rehearsal dinner-it really was so great to see all of them again:
At the wedding-this was so fun too! Especially when someone grabbed my hand and we started dancing around them:) It was like a Jewish line dance! I only wish I'd had my boots...:
We did LOTS of dancing afterwards too... I hope I wasn't making that face all night long!
I got home to Chris, Hank and Rocky. As I said last week, they played absolutely non-stop. They spent a LOT of time outside!
On Saturday, the OCF dog owners met the the Little Creek Beach for some doggy beach time. It was such a blast! When we got there, Rocky immediately saw a large family having a BBQ and proceeded to run through them, eat some of their food and make a few little kids cry-eek!! After some not-so-friendly words, we moved about a quarter mile down the beach and they could run all over without pissing anyone off. The real positive of the beach wasn't their play time as what it did to them:
They were like this until Rocky's parents came to get him last night! Hank's still dragging! It's pretty awesome. Sleepy puppies make happy owners:)
WIAW time!
Breakfast: Maple Brown Sugar Oatmeal
Snack: Pam's favorite yogurt-mixed berry
Lunch: Green Chili Enchilada Casserole from Holly Clegg's book-YUM!!
Snack: Fruit and Nut bar
Dinner: Leftover grilled flank steal and spaghetti squash with cilantro pesto and sundried tomato. I'm making myself eat the spaghetti squash. It was amazing the first time I made it but I haven't loved it since. I really should just stop buying it!
What did YOU eat today?
A house, a wedding and a dear friend
I finally snapped some pictures of the house as I was headed out the door on my way to the airport! More on facebook but here are a few of them:
Obviously, the kitchen. This was the hardest room to put together, but we did it!
My favorite-the reading room! Hank and I have an arrangement: I get a well behaved puppy long enough to read while I drink my coffee and he gets to chew his bone undisturbed. This sounds bad, but I also like the when he watches and sometimes barks at/freaks out people walking by the window:)
Living room-
And last but not least, but favorite addition to our dining room (I should really call it a dining nook...it doesn't have any doors)...the cutest foodie clock ever! Thanks Mom:) So, just in case you didn't believe me, here's the proof that her trip was successful and we were very productive in a few days!
I've been at home (Houston home) this weekend for our good friend's wedding. Here's the beautiful bride!
We had some good sister time at the wedding before she had to drive back to Baton Rouge:)
Dad and I decided their picture would be much better with us in it, I think we were right.
Sadly, they did have to leave early and they missed out on the best part of the whole wedding. Unbeknownst to anyone but the Dads and the DJ, the music stopped and the FOB brought out his clarinet and played "Unforgettable" to the bride and groom! Not only that, after the first verse, the FOG grabbed the mic and started singing! It was beautiful and one of the most memorable wedding moments I've ever witnessed. After the wedding fun, I still had another whole day to hang out with family (minus Blair). Mom and I went shopping and had a wonderful time! Partly, due to the fact that we saw our wonderful friend Hannah:) We became best friends in 4th grade and luckily, have kept in touch over the years. Hannah was my good luck charm about three years ago picking out my wedding dress and I hadn't seen her since! So, catching up with her was especially awesome:) Sadly, I don't have a picture of us in our Spring Cypress Presbyterian School jumpers. I DO, however, have this keeper! Good times:)
